Škoda Unleashes the Most Powerful Octavia vRS Ever and Introduces Stylish SportLine Model

Škoda, has recently unveiled an exhilarating update to its popular Octavia range. The flagship Octavia vRS model has received a significant power boost, making it the most powerful production Octavia ever offered by the brand. Alongside this performance-focused variant, Škoda has also introduced a new SportLine model, catering to those seeking a sportier aesthetic combined with efficient powertrain options.

Octavia vRS: The Ultimate Performance Sedan

At the heart of the revised Octavia vRS lies an updated 2.0-litre TSI four-cylinder petrol engine, derived from the same EA888 family that powers Škoda's championship-winning Fabia RS Rally2 car. This potent powerplant has been further refined to deliver an impressive 265PS, a 20PS increase over its predecessor. Coupled with a seven-speed DSG automatic transmission, the Octavia vRS can sprint from 0-62mph in just 6.4 seconds (6.5 seconds for the Estate model), while still maintaining a respectable WLTP combined fuel consumption figure of 40.8mpg (40.3mpg for the Estate).

The enhanced performance is complemented by a host of dynamic upgrades, including a VAQ electrohydraulic differential lock that ensures optimized grip and natural cornering characteristics. The chassis has also been lowered by 15mm, further improving the handling prowess of this sporting flagship.

Distinctive Octavia vRS Design

The updated Octavia vRS boasts a striking exterior design that sets it apart from the standard Octavia range. Restyled front and rear bumpers, along with a new vRS logo on the radiator grille, lend the model a more assertive presence. The use of gloss black accents on the radiator grille surround, side window trim, door mirrors, and rear bumper diffuser and tailpipes adds a touch of sportiness.

Completing the exterior transformation are the striking 19-inch Elias anthracite alloy wheels, which further enhance the vRS's dynamic appearance. The Estate variant also features black roof rails as standard.

Bespoke vRS Interior

Step inside the Octavia vRS, and you'll be greeted by a bespoke interior design that exudes a sporty character. The cabin is dominated by black trim, with the sports seats upholstered in fabric and featuring contrast red stitching and the vRS logo etched into the backrests. For added comfort, the seats offer electrically adjustable lumbar support and a massage function.

Octavia SportLine: Sporty Aesthetics, Efficient Performance

Alongside the high-performance Octavia vRS, Škoda has also introduced a new SportLine model to the Octavia range. This variant caters to those seeking a sportier appearance combined with efficient powertrain options.

The Octavia SportLine features a range of distinctive design elements, including 18-inch Vega Aero black alloy wheels, gloss black trim for the radiator grille, window surrounds, door mirrors, and badging. The interior also receives a special SportLine Design Selection, with sports seats, a black headlining, and carbon-effect door inserts.

Powertrain Options for the Octavia SportLine

The Octavia SportLine is available with a choice of three powertrain options, including a new 2.0 TDI 150PS diesel engine. This efficient unit, paired with a seven-speed DSG gearbox, delivers a WLTP combined fuel consumption figure of 60.6mpg (59.9mpg for the Estate model).

Customers can also opt for the 1.5 TSI 150PS ACT or the 1.5 TSI e-Tec 150PS DSG petrol engines, both of which offer a spirited driving experience while maintaining respectable fuel efficiency.
