The highly competitive crossover segment has been redefined with the introduction of the new Nissan Qashqai. As the pioneer and benchmark of the crossover market, the Qashqai has undergone a comprehensive aesthetic refresh and significant technological updates to maintain its position as the reference in its segment. With a refreshed design, upgraded interior, advanced technology, and an innovative powertrain, the new Qashqai sets a new standard for crossovers.
The exterior of the new Qashqai has been refreshed to exude a sharp and modern dynamism. The front grille has been comprehensively updated with dozens of high gloss, three-dimensional comma-shaped elements, inspired by patterns of ancient Japanese armor scales. The headlights have been redesigned for a sharper look, featuring an adaptive high beam module and daytime running lights that encircle the main headlight lens. At the rear, the shape of the lights remains unchanged, but the composition of the lights within the unit has been redesigned to bring a sense of elevated precision.
A new addition to the Qashqai lineup is the N-Design grade, designed to appeal to customers who desire a particularly bold version of the crossover. The N-Design grade features unique aesthetic touches, including body-colored lower body portions and wheel arches. It also boasts all-new 20" alloy wheels that bring added on-road presence.
The interior of the new Qashqai has undergone upgrades to elevate the on-board ambience. For the upper grades, there is a new application of Alcantara® on the dashboard, door inserts, door armrests, and center storage console lid, enhancing the overall luxurious feel. New patterned materials adorn the center console and decoration insert, showcasing Japanese craftsmanship. The seat trims have also been upgraded for a more premium feel, with the top spec Qashqai featuring black partially quilted premium leather.
The new Qashqai incorporates upgraded technology to make the daily driving experience even more intuitive and reassuring. The Around View Monitor (AVM) has been significantly upgraded, providing a birds-eye view of the vehicle when parking manoeuvres are performed. The updated AVM system now features a 3D function, allowing the driver to select different external camera viewpoints to visualize the car from various angles.
The Qashqai also introduces an "invisible hood view" feature, which allows the driver to see the position of the front wheels as if looking at them from just behind. This feature helps in precise maneuvering, especially in tight locations such as multi-story car parks. Additionally, the Qashqai offers a "Parking Spot Location Memory" feature that automatically recognizes frequently visited parking locations, ensuring perfect parking each time.
The suite of driver assistance systems in the new Qashqai has been significantly upgraded to provide improved vigilance and intervention for maximum peace of mind. The Autonomous Emergency Braking functions have been recalibrated to sharpen risk detection and react more quickly in case of a possible collision. The Emergency Stop Signal activates the rear brake lights to catch the attention of vehicles behind when a sudden brake pressure is applied at high speeds.
The Qashqai now features the Emergency Lane Keep System, which automatically activates Lane Departure Warning and Lane Departure Prevention systems at speeds above 60km/h. It provides a haptic warning through the steering wheel when the car is too close to the central lines or the side of the road.
The new Qashqai offers the unique e-POWER electrified powertrain, which has proven popular with customers since its launch in 2022. Unlike traditional hybrids, e-POWER simplifies the powertrain by eliminating the need for a gearbox. The wheels are directly driven by the electric motor, providing instant, high torque, and a linear response. The advanced turbocharged 3-cylinder engine generates electricity to power the electric motor or charge the 1.8kWh battery, allowing for an EV-like driving experience without the need for frequent charging.
