All-New MG4 EV XPOWER: The Power-Packed Electric Car from MG

Chiswick MG is excited to announce that MG is all set to launch the latest addition to its MG4 range and lineup of electric cars - the all-new MG4 EV XPOWER. This electric hot hatchback is set to be one of the most powerful production cars from the brand, with a dual-motor powertrain delivering up to 435PS and 600Nm of torque. The MG4 EV XPOWER is expected to be available to order from Chiswick MG from July 2023, with the MG4 EV XPOWER's first public debut confirmed for the Goodwood Festival of Speed (July 13-16).

The Design of the MG4 EV XPOWER

The all-new MG4 EV XPOWER's subtle yet sporty exterior, has understated design revisions that help it stand out from the standard MG4 EV. The all-new MG4 EV XPOWER features orange 'XPOWER' brake callipers, a two-tone black roof, new 18'' alloy wheels, and polished trim accents, alongside an exclusive new Racing Green colour option. The front bumper is mostly the same as the standard cars, with the large air intakes and bold creases carried over. However, the new MG4 EV XPOWER's slightly larger lower splitter comes with some white decals. The plastic aero covers for the wheels have been replaced with stylish 18-inch diamond-cut alloys, with bright orange brake callipers visible behind them. There are more white decals down the side of the all-new MG4 EV XPOWER, and the rear spoiler design is the same as the range-topping Trophy version of the MG4. The MG4 XPOWER is expected to fly under the radar in comparison to the usual MG4 EV high-powered hatchback offerings.

Powerful Dual-Motor Configuration

The all-new MG4 EV XPOWER is equipped with an all-new dual-motor configuration that delivers up to 320kW and 435PS to all four wheels, via front (150kW) and rear (170kW) electric motors. The dual-motor powertrain delivers up to 600Nm of torque, which is enough to launch the car from 0-62mph in just 3.8 seconds. The MG4 XPOWER's electrifying performance contrasts with a series of understated exterior design revisions. The enhanced drivetrain in the all-new MG4 XPOWER features sophisticated new technological upgrades to effectively distribute power and maximize driver engagement while cornering.

Dynamic Cornering Control System

An all-new Dynamic Cornering Control System is available for the first time on an MG, featuring a locking electronic differential and Intelligent Motor Control to allow torque vectoring between all four wheels, generating maximum traction and outstanding composure in a wide range of driving conditions. The electronic torque vectoring system helps to put the power down through the corners, and the MG4 XPOWER's re-tuned suspension, stiffer anti-roll bars, and sharper steering. Overall suspension stiffness has been increased by up to 25%, meaning the MG4 EV XPOWER's new features will build upon the acclaimed handling characteristics of the current MG4 models.

Regenerative Braking Software

MG's engineering team has also recalibrated the regenerative braking software to allow one-pedal driving in suitable situations. The increased stopping power reduces the XPOWER's 62-0mph stopping distance to just 33.9 meters, generated via uprated, ventilated 345mm discs on all four corners. The new premium Bridgestone Turanza tires offer excellent levels of grip without compromising rolling efficiency.

Launch Control Feature

Underlining the new MG4 EV model's performance credentials, a new launch control feature allows drivers to experience XPOWER in its ultimate form by sprinting from 0-62mph in just 3.8 seconds. This feature is only available on a handful of electric cars currently available in the market, making the MG4 EV XPOWER an exciting addition to the electric car lineup.

Interior Features

The all-new MG4 EV XPOWER has a lot to offer in terms of interior features. The front seats in the MG4 XPOWER are covered in Alcantara, making them very comfortable. The driver's seat is also electrically adjusted for practicality and comfort and the rear seats have adequate and comfortable space for a couple of adults. There's also a reasonable amount of luggage space in the rear, with 363 liters with the rear seats up, and 1165 liters with them down.

Price and Release Date

The all-new MG4 EV XPOWER is set to be available to order from Chiswick MG in July 2023, with deliveries expected by the end of the year. As for pricing, the MG4 EV XPOWER costs from £36,495.
