​ALL-NEW PEUGEOT E-EXPERT: THE EXPERT IN ELECTRIC​

Peugeot have demonstrated their commitment to electrifying its models of a 100% LCV range by 2021 with their latest release the Peugeot e-EXPERT.

The Peugeot e-EXPERT version is evidence that Peugeot are taking the lead in a market which is undergoing a re-structure of legislation and the implementations of ultra-low emissions due to ‘low-emission zones’ in key cities. The potential of only allowing zero emission vehicles into these zones in the future is an ever-growing scenario which would cause difficulties to some manufactures, but not Peugeot.

​The e-EXPERT will be available in two levels of range (124 miles and 186 miles WLTP) – this will allow customers to select the vehicle which best suits their daily needs. Figures show that a majority of business professionals are commuting less than 186 miles a day.

Buyers will be able to choose from two battery options:

  • 50 kWh, for a range of 124 miles (WLTP),
  • 75 kWh, for a range of 186 miles (WLTP).

By remaining faithful to the Peugeot brand's concept of ‘The Power of Choice’, the PEUGEOT e-EXPERT will offer the extra efficiency of an electric drivetrain while retaining the same loadspace volumes of diesel versions.

The new Peugeot e-EXPERT will be launched in the second half of 2020 and will carry on the undisputed success of the Peugeot EXPERT range since its launch in 2016, with more than 170,000 units sold globally. It will also strengthen PEUGEOT’s leadership of the LCV market in Europe and add another electrified model to the PEUGEOT range, alongside the e-Boxer, e-208, e-2008, 3008 HYBRID4, 508 HYBRID and 508 SW HYBRID.

Peugeot are yet to release official specifications but as the Peugeot e-EXPERT shares its body with its powered model, it is believed the load-carrying capabilities will be much the same. Also, given its position towards the top of the Expert line-up, we expect it will feature at least the same level of equipment as the mid-range Professional model.

As standard, buyers should get body-coloured bumpers, LED daytime running lights, cruise control, a speed limiter, automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers a redesigned radiator grille and a charging port mounted on the front nearside wing. Like the standard Expert, alloy wheels and PSA’s Grip Control system should also be offered as optional extras.

Further announcements are due in the first quarter 2020 which we are led to believe will include pricing structures, specifications and an official release date.
