Fresh from a string of three wins at the Dakar Rally, Team Peugeot Total now have their sights set on the 12-round FIA World Rallycross Championship.
As we buckle up for another year of all-action mixed-terrain racing there’s a new team to follow on the World Rallycross grid. After conquering the deserts of South America the mighty Team Peugeot Total will be a full factory entry in the 2018 FIA World Rallycross Championship.
Following outstanding success at the Dakar Rally, the French manufacturer should not be taken lightly in any racing arena. With an updated version of the PEUGEOT 208 WRX and a driving squad including Sébastien Loeb, it’s clear that the team are chasing the biggest prizes on offer.
Team Peugeot Total will make their World Rallycross debut at the opening round of the 12-race season in Barcelona, April 14-16. As well as nine-time WRC winner Loeb they can call on the driving talents of Swedish siblings Timmy and Kevin Hansen.
The aim is for Loeb and the Hansen brothers to put as many points on the board while the PEUGEOT 208 WRX is further developed as the season progresses. Right now both the drivers’ and teams’ championships are long-term ambitions to one day place alongside the recent Dakar and Pikes Peak triumphs claimed by Peugeot.
