Mazda, the renowned Japanese automotive manufacturer, is gearing up to make a grand appearance at the highly anticipated CarFest 2024 event. As the sponsor of the StarFest and Club CarFest stages, Mazda is set to captivate attendees with a unique blend of automotive excellence and family-friendly entertainment.
Mazda's partnership with CarFest 2024 extends beyond mere
sponsorship. The brand will be showcasing a selection of cars from across its
diverse range, including the all-electric Mazda MX-30, giving festival-goers
the opportunity to explore Mazda's multi-solution approach to drivetrain
technology. With over 30,000 people expected to attend the festival each day,
this collaboration presents a fantastic platform for Mazda to introduce its
brand to a wide audience while supporting a remarkable event that raises funds
for various children's charities.
As part of the festivities, Mazda is set to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the iconic Mazda MX-5 roadster. A host of special MX-5 models from Mazda UK's heritage fleet will be demonstrated on the CarFest demo track, allowing spectators to witness the evolution of this beloved sports car.
The Mazda MX-5 Legacy
Since its introduction at the 1989 Chicago Motor Show and subsequent launch in the UK in 1990, the Mazda MX-5 has captured the hearts of enthusiastic British drivers. Over the course of its four generations, the MX-5 has remained true to its original principle of being an affordable, lightweight, and above all, fun-to-drive roadster. With over 136,000 units sold in the UK, the MX-5 has become a true icon, embodying Mazda's "Jinba Ittai" philosophy of the driver and car becoming one.
Visitors to CarFest 2024 will have the opportunity to see a diverse lineup of MX-5 models, including two 1.6-litre Mk1 MX-5s, the incredibly rare 1.6-litre turbo-charged Le Mans Special Edition Mk1, and a later 1.8-litre Mk1 in iconic British Racing Green. Additionally, three limited edition models that marked landmark moments in the MX-5's history will be on display: the Mk2 10th Anniversary, the Mk3 25th Anniversary, and the Mk4 30th Anniversary. Rounding out the lineup are the 2016 Launch Edition version of the Mazda MX-5 RF and two examples of the current 2024 Mazda MX-5.
As the sponsor of the StarFest and Club CarFest stages, Mazda will be showcasing its unique brand personality and Japanese craftsmanship to the festival attendees. The StarFest stage will feature a lineup of talented performers, including renowned personalities such as James Lance, Ed Byrne, James May, Tim Peake, George Clarke, and many more. In the evenings, the space will transition to Club CarFest, where DJ talent such as Patrick Nazemi, DJ Hyperstar, and Beatbox Collective will take the stage.
CarFest's Charitable Mission
Since its inception in 2012, CarFest has been driven by a core mission to raise funds for UK children's charities. To date, the festival has raised over £25 million for its partner organizations, including BBC Children in Need, Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust, My Black Dog, Rainbow Trust, Starlight Foundation, Teenage Cancer Trust, Young Epilepsy, and the local Hampshire charity Naomi House and Jackplace.
Mazda's involvement in CarFest 2024 as the sponsor of the StarFest and Club CarFest stages, coupled with the celebration of the Mazda MX-5's 35th anniversary, promises to create an unforgettable experience for attendees. By showcasing its exceptional craftsmanship, innovative technology, and the enduring legacy of the MX-5, Mazda aims to captivate the hearts and minds of festival-goers while supporting the event's noble mission of raising funds for children's charities.
