           BLIND SPOT MONITORING (BSM) WITH REAR CROSS TRAFFIC ALERT (RCTA) BSM detects vehicles approaching from behind and in the adjacent lane using radars mounted in the rear bumper. By displaying an icon in the appropriate door mirror, it alerts the driver to the presence of vehicles in the blind spot on either side. When the driver indicates a lane change with a vehicle in the blind spot, the icon flashes and a warning beep is heard.
          RCTA is intended to assist you in determining whether it is safe to begin backing up. The system employs the same radars and indicators as BSM to detect vehicles approaching from both sides and alert the driver when one approaches.
