The Kia PV5 Passenger has demonstrated its impressive real-world efficiency after exceeding its official WLTP driving range during the prestigious NAF El Prix Summer Test – recognised as the world's largest independent electric vehicle comparison.
Conducted annually by the Norwegian Automotive Federation (NAF) and Motor magazine, the test evaluates electric vehicles under identical real-world driving and charging conditions, providing motorists with an independent assessment of EV performance.
Real-world range surpasses official figures
Equipped with Kia's 71.2kWh Long Range battery, the PV5 Passenger has an official WLTP range of up to 256 miles. During the Norwegian test, however, the vehicle travelled an impressive 260 miles on a single charge, outperforming its certified range while recording an efficient average energy consumption of 4.5 miles per kWh.
The result placed the PV5 Passenger among the top-performing vehicles in the family category, further demonstrating the practicality of Kia's latest Purpose-Built Vehicle (PBV) in everyday driving conditions.
Charging performance also matched Kia's official figures, with the battery replenishing from 10 to 80 per cent in just 30 minutes using a 150kW DC fast charger.
Commenting on the results, Erhan Eren, PBV Director at Kia Europe, said the independent test confirmed the PV5 Passenger delivers the flexibility, space and efficiency expected by both families and business users in real-world driving.Designed for families and business users alike
Built on Kia's dedicated E-GMP.S platform, the PV5 Passenger combines a spacious and highly configurable interior with advanced connectivity and impressive refinement. Available with both Standard Range (51.5kWh) and Long Range (71.2kWh) battery options, the five-seat model has been designed to suit a wide range of personal and commercial applications.
A compact 5.5-metre turning circle improves manoeuvrability in urban environments, while advanced driver assistance systems, over-the-air software updates and vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality further enhance everyday usability. Kia Charge also provides access to more than one million public charging points across Europe, including almost 75,000 across the UK.
The range is set to expand further with the arrival of the new seven-seat PV5 Passenger later this year, offering even greater flexibility for larger families and fleet operators.
Fleet Insight
The independent NAF test reinforces the Kia PV5 Passenger's credentials as a highly capable electric vehicle for both fleet and private customers. With real-world range exceeding official figures, rapid charging capability and the flexibility of Kia's dedicated PBV platform, the PV5 is well positioned for businesses looking to reduce operating costs while supporting the transition to electrified transport. Combined with Kia's established fleet support network and seven-year warranty, the PV5 represents a compelling option for organisations seeking practical, future-ready mobility solutions.
