The Limited Edition Mazda MX-5 Z-Sport Released

Mazda has revealed it's limited edition MX-5 Z Sport, a twist on the iconic Roadster with a suite of aesthetic tweaks and minor chassis revisions. Due to go on sale in March 2018 at a price of £25,595, only 300 examples will be built in the UK only.

The Z-Sport is finished in Machine Grey Metallic paint with a contrasting cherry-red fabric roof, an exclusive color combination for the Z-Sport, which also incorporates the black 16-spoke, 17-inch BBS alloys.

Mazda UK managing director, Jeremy Thomson, said: “The MX-5’s new Cherry-coloured roof was shown for the first time in public at Tokyo where it received a very positive reception. I’m delighted that we can bring it to UK MX-5 buyers as part of the Z-Sport limited edition model.”

The interior boasts Sand-coloured leather seats, special floor mats and a numbered plaque on the dashboard which displays the car’s build-number in the Z-Sport series production run.

The chassis refresh constitutes a rear-suspension retune and recalibration of the power steering to increase the driving enjoyment and better align it with Mazda’s well-known Jinba-ittai principle, while the strut brace, Bilstein dampers and a limited-slip differential have all been carried over from the Sport Nav model. As has the 2-litre four-cylinder engine producing 158bhp which will be mated to a six-speed manual gearbox.

The Mazda MX-5 is a vehicle that doesn't seem to have a sell-by-date. The extras included on this model add a very subtle twist on a classic favourite, enhancing driving experience. The handling remains as fun as ever and the unique looks will definitely make you stand out from the crowd - for all the right reasons. Overall, an excellent twist on the iconic model that is great value for money.
