Mazda accelerates UK strategy with HBO Max partnership and upcoming Mazda6e launch

Mazda is strengthening its presence in the UK market through a combination of high-profile brand partnerships and a significant expansion of its electrified vehicle line-up, as 2026 shapes up to be a pivotal year for the brand.

Mazda partners with HBO Max for UK launch

Mazda has been announced as an official launch sponsor for HBO Max in the UK and Ireland, supporting the arrival of Warner Bros. Discovery’s global streaming platform.

The partnership sees Mazda featured across the platform through a series of cinematic short-form idents, designed to capture moments of anticipation—the pause before a story begins, and the stillness before a journey starts. Inspired by Japanese design principles, the films draw on atmospheric settings such as winter landscapes in Hokkaido, Tokyo cityscapes, and natural light filtered through forest canopies.

The collaboration aligns Mazda’s design philosophy and craftsmanship with the storytelling ethos of HBO Max, reinforcing brand awareness at a time when Mazda is preparing to introduce several key new models to the UK market.

Mazda6e leads next phase of electrification

Central to Mazda’s 2026 product strategy is the arrival of the all-new Mazda6e, which is set to launch in the UK this summer as a fully electric replacement for the long-standing Mazda6.

Blending sleek saloon styling with the practicality of a hatchback, the Mazda6e represents a significant step forward in the brand’s transition to electrification. It will be offered with a 78kWh battery delivering a WLTP range of up to 348 miles, alongside rapid charging capability and rear-wheel-drive performance.

The model has already demonstrated strong fleet potential, achieving a class-leading residual value forecast of 58.3%, outperforming several key competitors in the segment. Early feedback from leasing companies and corporate customers has also been positive, particularly around its design, interior quality, and overall value proposition.

Designed for modern drivers

The Mazda6e introduces the next evolution of Mazda’s ‘Kodo – Soul of Motion’ design language, combining a coupe-like silhouette with refined detailing and a strong road presence. Features such as frameless doors, a distinctive lighting signature, and an electronically deployable rear spoiler contribute to its modern, premium aesthetic.

Inside, the cabin focuses on simplicity and space, inspired by Japanese design concepts. A panoramic roof enhances the sense of openness, while high-quality materials and a driver-focused layout create a comfortable and technologically advanced environment.

Strong appeal for fleet and user-chooser markets

With its combination of long electric range, competitive pricing, and high standard specification, the Mazda6e is expected to appeal strongly to company car drivers and salary sacrifice schemes.

Mazda’s fleet team has already engaged extensively with leasing providers and corporate customers ahead of launch, positioning the model as a key part of its multi-solution strategy, which continues to include hybrid and plug-in hybrid options alongside full EVs.

Looking ahead

The Mazda6e will be available to order ahead of first UK deliveries this summer, with further expansion of Mazda’s electric range to follow, including the introduction of the all-new CX-6e SUV later in the year.

Combined with its HBO Max partnership, Mazda’s activity in 2026 reflects a clear strategy: building brand visibility while delivering a new generation of electrified vehicles designed to combine performance, practicality, and distinctive design.
