New Mazda6e Arrives in UK with Home Charger Offer and Up to 348 Miles of Range

Mazda has confirmed UK pricing and customer offers for the all-new Mazda6e ahead of the electric saloon’s arrival in showrooms this summer.

Customers ordering the new battery-electric Mazda6e through retail or Mazda Contract Hire before 30 June will be eligible for a tethered or untethered Pod Home Charger for £499, helping ease the transition to EV ownership for new buyers.

In addition, both retail and fleet customers will receive a £500 public charging credit through the Mazda Public Charging App, providing access to participating public charging networks across the UK.

Mazda6 Reimagined for the Electric Era

Priced from £38,995 for the Takumi model and £39,995 for the Takumi Plus, the Mazda6e introduces a new fully electric chapter for the Mazda6 nameplate.

Combining sleek saloon styling with the practicality of a hatchback, the Mazda6e has been developed to deliver premium comfort, strong driving dynamics and long-distance usability.

Laura Brailey, Sales Director at Mazda UK, said the charging offer was designed to simplify the ownership experience for customers new to electric vehicles.

“We recognise that many prospective Mazda6e customers may be new to electric vehicles and the simplicity, convenience and the well-established installation process associated with this offer is designed to deliver a seamless and stress-free move to electric car ownership,” she said.

Single UK Battery Specification

While the Mazda6e launched in Europe with multiple battery options, UK models will feature a single 78kWh LFP battery designed to balance range, charging performance and efficiency.

The rear-wheel-drive electric saloon offers a WLTP range of up to 348 miles and supports rapid charging at speeds of up to 195kW, allowing a 10 to 80 percent recharge in approximately 24 minutes.

Producing 258PS and 290Nm of torque, the Mazda6e can accelerate from 0-62mph in 7.9 seconds.

New Evolution of Kodo Design

Developed under the theme “Electrifying Design Crafted to Perfection,” the Mazda6e introduces the next evolution of Mazda’s Kodo: Soul of Motion design philosophy.

The car features a sleek coupe-inspired silhouette with a low roofline and short rear deck while maintaining the versatility of a five-door hatchback.

Distinctive styling details include frameless doors, aerodynamic 19-inch alloy wheels and a bold illuminated front lighting signature. The glowing front wing surrounding the grille also acts as a charging status indicator during replenishment.

At the rear, a full-width light bar and newly designed Mazda lettering replace the traditional rear badge, while an electronically deployable rear spoiler enhances both aesthetics and high-speed stability.

Premium Interior with Driver-Focused Technology

Inside, the Mazda6e has been designed around simplicity, openness and premium craftsmanship.

A panoramic glass roof floods the cabin with natural light, while the minimalist dashboard and floating centre console create an airy, spacious environment inspired by the Japanese concept of “Ma” — the beauty of empty space.

Takumi models are trimmed in black or stone-coloured Maztex artificial leather, while Takumi Plus versions gain tan Nappa leather and suede-style upholstery finishes.

Technology features include a 14.6-inch central touchscreen, 10.2-inch digital instrument display and augmented reality head-up display, all designed to deliver a highly connected and intuitive driving experience.

Practicality remains a key focus, with a 336-litre rear boot complemented by a 72-litre front storage compartment.

Tuned for UK Drivers

Jeremy Thomson, Managing Director of Mazda Motors UK, described the Mazda6e as a significant model for both retailers and customers.

“The Mazda6e is the car our dealers have been waiting for,” he said. “With a nod to the popularity of the original Mazda6, it’s a real statement of intent for the future and illustrates how Mazda can bring great design, technology and style to battery electric vehicles.”

He added that the suspension, steering and braking systems had been specifically calibrated by Mazda Research Europe in Frankfurt to suit UK driving preferences and deliver the engaging driving dynamics associated with the brand.

Thomson also highlighted the model’s importance within Mazda’s broader multi-solution strategy, which includes mild-hybrid, plug-in hybrid and fully electric vehicles.

“With pricing that keeps both models below £40,000, combined with the level of equipment and technology included as standard, the Mazda6e represents a highly competitive proposition,” he said. “It also positions Mazda strongly in the growing D-segment EV fleet market.”

The Mazda6e is available to configure and order now, with first UK deliveries scheduled for this summer. Mazda has also confirmed that the next stage of its EV expansion will arrive later this year with the launch of the all-new Mazda CX-6e SUV.
