October is an exciting month for the motoring world as a number of new vehicles will debut for the first time at the Paris Motor Show (also known as Mondial de l'Automobile). It’s the oldest motor show dating back to 1898, and is now held every two years – alternating with the equally important Frankfurt Motor Show. One of the notable world debuts at the show will be the 273bhp Skoda Kodiaq vRS SUV.
This model will be Skoda’s high-performance variant of the impressive Kodiaq. The only offered engine will be a 237bhp 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel with 500Nm of torque. It will include Dynamic Chassis Control system and all-wheel drive and offer a DSG automatic gearbox as standard. Key design features include 20” alloy wheels, LED headlights, dual exhausts, dynamically styled front & rear bumpers and the usual vRS sport seats & logos.
Its blistering performance was confirmed earlier this year when professional racing driver, Sabine Schmitz, set the Nürburgring record for a seven-seater SUV – completing the 12.9-mile circuit in 9mins 29.8secs.
