Thanks to an upgrade from Nissan, the new 2019 Nissan Qashqai is now available with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as standard from Acenta Premium specification and upwards.
These new features will be displayed onto the stunning high res 7-inch touchscreen which also has sat nav as standard with over the air updates. These tech updates come as Nissan deliver a host of upgrades to the Qashqai, inside and out., such as the new highly economical and powerful 1.3 litre turbo charged petrol engines. The new engines are available with either 140hp or 160hp.
The updates to NissanConnect are expected to be rolled out across the other models imminently. The changes come as U.S. reports from 2018 show that "1 in 4 U.S. buyers would not consider a car that didn’t offer a form of smartphone-mirroring technology."
“Driver preferences are shifting towards on-demand and streamed services, rather than scheduled broadcasts or offline audio formats such as CD,” said Nissan Europe vice president Ponz Pandikuthira.
“Within the next decade… we’ll be streaming audio, navigational and visual information, entirely through cellular transmissions, with 4G and 5G connection speeds required to manage this data demand."
“As a result, by 2030, it’s entirely feasible that the car aerial – in the form we know it today – may be another feature consigned to the automotive history books.”
Prices for the new Qashqai Acenta Premium with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto start from £22,895. For more information on the U.K's best-selling crossover, click here.
