Ahead of its forthcoming launch the Skoda Kodiaq vRS has set the Nürburgring lap record for a seven-seat SUV.
The SUV completed the 12.9-mile circuit in just 9mins 29.8secs, driven by professional racing driving Sabine Schmitz.
The vehicle is currently undergoing final stages of its testing programme and is expected to include dramatic new styling, together with revised front and rear bumpers, and more design details around the front grille. The vehicle will make its full debut at the Paris Motor Show in October.
A 237bhp 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel will be offered with the Kodiaq vRS, also boasting Dynamic Chassis Control, all-wheel drive and a DSG automatic gearbox as standard.
Speaking after the recent lap record, Skoda's head of compact models Frantisek Drabek said: "The Kodiaq vRS equally embodies the versatility and spaciousness of a family SUV as well as emotion and dynamism."
The Czech brand is currently focusing on a vast range of new vehicles, rumours include Superb and Kodiaq plug-in hybrids and expanding the vRS range.
