UK Nissan Qashqai Production Hits 3 Million

Just over a decade since the crossover segment pioneer made its debut, the Qashqai has hit a record breaking 2017, producing the three millionth Qashqai made in the UK to date.

This incredible achievement from Nissan’s Sunderland plant, comes came as the company posted record breaking full-year sales figures, totalling 762,574 vehicles from Datsun and Nissan models, an increase of 3.8% from 2016.

Having won more than 80 awards around the world including 19 ‘car of the year’ titles, the Qashqai is the bestselling European Nissan in the company’s history.

Since the start, the Qashqai has beautiofully blended the functionality and desirability off an SUV, with the performand and economy of a hatchback, cementing its place in history and indeed the future as the ‘Ultimate Urban Crossover’

Paul Willcox, chairman of Nissan Europe, said: "2017 was another record-breaking year for Nissan Europe, and 2018 has started the same way. The Qashqai’s achievement of reaching 3,000,000 vehicles produced in 10 years is a significant milestone, while the October launch of the new and eagerly awaited Nissan LEAF has seen record-breaking pre-orders of one every 10 minutes.”
