JAECOO has been named Carwow’s Brand of the Year 2026, capping a remarkable rise that has also seen the marque become the fastest-growing mainstream automotive brand in the UK for more than a decade .
The prestigious Carwow accolade recognises JAECOO’s confident design language, advanced technology and exceptional value proposition, as well as the extraordinary impact the brand has made in the UK since launching in January 2025. Judged by Carwow’s expert content team – who assess hundreds of vehicles annually across all segments and powertrains – the award celebrates brands delivering genuine innovation and standout real-world performance.
Mat Watson, Chief Content Officer at Carwow, commented:
“JAECOO feels like it’s been selling cars in the UK for no more than five minutes, yet it’s already taken the market by storm. The JAECOO 7 has topped enquiries on Carwow, and it’s easy to see why – these cars look great, come packed with standard equipment and cost significantly less than many European, Japanese or Korean alternatives.”
The award follows an exceptional year of growth. According to figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT)*, JAECOO recorded 28,232 new car registrations in 2025, making it the fastest-growing mainstream automotive brand the UK has seen in the past 10 years.
At the heart of this success is the JAECOO 7, which accounted for 26,048 registrations, making it the fourth most popular retail car in the UK. Demand has been driven predominantly by the innovative Super Hybrid System (SHS) powertrain, which represented 70% of all JAECOO 7 sales. Offering a total driving range of up to 745 miles, including 56 miles of EV-only driving, the SHS system combines rapid charging capability with self-charging efficiency, setting it apart from many plug-in hybrid rivals.
The JAECOO 7’s momentum has translated into standout monthly results, with the JAECOO 7 SHS named the UK’s best-selling plug-in hybrid in August, the fourth best-selling car overall in September, and the best-selling Chinese car in the UK in October, according to SMMT data*.
Since launch, JAECOO has surpassed 21,000 UK sales, establishing itself as one of the country’s most exciting and fastest-growing automotive newcomers. Much of this growth has been driven by private buyers, with retail sales accounting for 55% of all registrations, supported by a rapidly expanding OMODA&JAECOO dealer network now standing at 101 UK sites.
Gary Lan, CEO of JAECOO UK, said:
“Being named Carwow’s Brand of the Year, alongside becoming the UK’s fastest-growing mainstream automotive brand, is an extraordinary achievement. From day one, our ambition has been to create modern, capable vehicles that connect with customers emotionally and practically. The success of the JAECOO 7 and the strong demand for our Super Hybrid technology show that UK drivers are responding to what we stand for. This recognition motivates us to push even further as we expand our range and strengthen our UK presence.”
JAECOO’s product portfolio continues to grow, with the recent arrival of the compact JAECOO 5 and the all-electric JAECOO E5, broadening the brand’s appeal across the competitive SUV segments. Together, they introduce new ICE, hybrid and fully electric options while retaining JAECOO’s adventurous design DNA, high equipment levels and technology-led approach.
The JAECOO 7 is priced from £30,115 OTR, with the JAECOO 7 SHS available from £35,165 OTR. The JAECOO 5 starts at £24,505 OTR, while the pure electric JAECOO E5 is priced from £27,505 OTR.
Looking ahead to 2026, JAECOO will continue investing in its UK network, model line-up and aftersales infrastructure, including the upcoming launch of the JAECOO 8. Every JAECOO model is supported by a 7-year/100,000-mile vehicle warranty, an 8-year/100,000-mile battery warranty where applicable, and RAC Home Start cover, ensuring long-term confidence and peace of mind for UK customers.
Together, JAECOO’s award recognition, record-breaking growth and expanding product range underline its rapid transformation from new entrant to major force in the UK automotive market.
