PEUGEOT POLYGON CONCEPT: A Glimpse into the Future of Driving Enjoyment

The PEUGEOT POLYGON CONCEPT is more than an experimental showpiece—it is a compact, sub-4-metre concept car designed to give today’s drivers a hands-on experience of the brand’s next automotive era. After making its digital debut on POLYGON City in Fortnite, the concept now appears as a fully functioning prototype showcasing the innovations Peugeot plans to introduce from 2027 onwards, including the groundbreaking Hypersquare® steering control and Steer-by-Wire technology.

A Radical New Way to Drive

The Hypersquare® steering controller reinvents over a century of steering-wheel tradition. Its square, touch-ready form is central to a reimagined PEUGEOT i-Cockpit® and connects to a full electronic steering system. Paired with Steer-by-Wire, which replaces the physical link between the steering and the wheels, the system enables exceptional agility.

At low speeds, the steering ratio tightens, enabling quick manoeuvres with less than one full rotation. At higher speeds, only small inputs are needed to guide the car, creating a feeling of precision and stability. The system also filters out unwanted vibrations while maintaining valuable road feedback, providing a confident and intuitive drive.

A New Immersive i-Cockpit® Experience

POLYGON CONCEPT introduces the most immersive interpretation of the i-Cockpit® to date. The entire windscreen becomes the infotainment display, with information projected via a Micro-LED panel behind the Hypersquare®. Equivalent to a 31-inch screen, this display keeps critical information directly in the driver’s line of sight.

Drivers can customise the projection depending on the situation.
When stationary, the Micro-LEDs animate both inside and outside the car, with colour-changing ambient lighting controlled through a rotary dial that itself carries a digital display.
While driving, themed modes—Cruise, Fun, and Hyper—synchronise interior and exterior lighting and visual effects to match the driving mood.

Designing the Peugeot of Tomorrow

POLYGON CONCEPT previews a new chapter of feline, geometric French design. Micro-LEDs redefine Peugeot’s iconic three-claw signature with a bold horizontal layout at the front and animated lighting at the rear. A separate Micro-LED screen on the C-pillar displays the charging status beside a pop-up charging connector.

The body features playful colour accents across the panels, wheels and even laser-engraved Goodyear tyres, which integrate Goodyear’s SightLine intelligent tyre tech, feeding road and tyre data directly into the i-Cockpit®.

Space, Comfort and Ingenuity Inside

The interior focuses on space and personalisation. Removing the traditional dashboard and B-pillar frees up room, while a canopy-like glass structure brightens the cabin. Special modular holders allow passengers to store a range of everyday items—from backpacks to headphones and skateboards.

Seats use a 3D-printed recycled plastic shell and single-piece moulded foam, creating minimalist yet supportive shapes impossible with traditional upholstery.

Sustainable, Modular, and Designed to Last

POLYGON CONCEPT uses recycled materials extensively:

  • Interior lacquer contains elements from recycled tyres.
  • Forged textile made from dismantled Peugeot seats covers the cabin.
  • Seat shells and wheel covers use recycled R-PET via large-scale 3D printing.

The concept is engineered with fewer parts for easier assembly, efficiency and end-of-life recyclability. Many components—seat foam, Hypersquare®, wheel covers, dashboard elements—can be swapped in minutes, allowing the car to evolve with its owner.

One Car, Many Personalities

Peugeot highlights three example configurations:
URBAN – clean, stylish and city-ready;
PLAYER – sporty and performance-inspired;
EXPLORER – rugged and adventure-oriented.

These versions debuted in the Fortnite POLYGON City island, showcasing the concept’s playful, endlessly customisable nature.

The PEUGEOT POLYGON CONCEPT is a bold manifesto: one vehicle, multiple identities, and a vision of future driving that is immersive, sustainable and irresistibly fun.
