How Practical Is It?

The Honda NT1100 is a highly practical touring motorcycle with features that enhance the overall riding experience. The adjustable windscreen, increased luggage capacity, and optional Electronic Suspension make it versatile for various riding conditions and preferences.

Highlights
Standard Panniers: 37L and 36L The NT1100's practicality shines through its redesigned standard panniers in the 2025 model. These hard cases pack quite a punch with 37L on one side and 36L on the other. Each case fits a full-face helmet, so you won't need to lug your helmet around after parking.

The panniers use the same key as your bike, which means no extra keys to worry about. They come in a basic finish, and you can add color-matched panels or go for an aluminum look based on what you like.
Optional 50L Top Box Honda's optional 50L top box adds even more space to pack your gear. It's big enough to hold two full-size helmets, making it perfect for rides with a passenger. You can add a backrest to the top box to make your passenger's trip more comfortable.
Improved Wind Protection and Screen Adjustability The windscreen is where this bike really shines. The 2025 model comes with a brand new screen that gives you:

Five levels to adjust both height and angle

167mm (6.5 inches) of total adjustment range

    Easy one-handed adjustments while riding

This means you can change your airflow without stopping. The screen sends air around your shoulders when it's low, and over your helmet when it's high.

The screen works with built-in upper and lower deflectors to protect your arms and lower body. This complete wind system creates what testers call "superb wind protection" that cuts down on rider fatigue by a lot during long trips.

The 2025 model's front mudguard is now 150mm longer, which keeps water away from you and the fairing more effectively. This small change makes riding in the rain much more pleasant.

    Whats It Like Onboard?

The 2025 Honda NT1100 takes comfort to new heights in the long-distance touring world. The bike comes with major upgrades that make a huge difference when you're covering long distances.

    Highlights
Tank Bag and Comfort Pack Options Honda's accessory packages combine storage and comfort upgrades:

Urban Pack: You get a 50L color-matched top box with an inner bag and passenger backrest, plus an integrated alarm system

Voyage Pack: This combines the 50L top box, a 4.5L tank bag, comfort seats for both rider and passenger, comfort pillion footpegs, and fog lights

Touring Pack: Comes with comfort seats, specialized pillion footpegs, and auxiliary fog lights

The 4.5L tank bag lets you grab essential items without getting off your bike. You can also buy comfort upgrades separately - the rider comfort seat costs £125 and the pillion comfort seat is £90.

The NT1100's storage options, paired with its 20.4L fuel tank, make it a true touring powerhouse ready for long adventures.
New Seat Design and Padding The 2025 model's rider seat has gotten a complete makeover. The seat's rear section is now 20% bigger, while the front keeps its narrow profile. This smart design lets riders easily touch the ground at the same 32.3-inch seat height.

The seat's quality matches its size. You'll find almost 3 inches of thick, supportive cushioning that's built to keep you comfy on long rides. Experts who spent hours testing the bike on long trips say this new seat design is a must-have for serious touring.

Honda also gives you the option to boost your comfort with their official Comfort Rider Seat accessory. This upgrade comes with softer padding than the standard seat. The premium materials and red stitching add a nice touch while making the bike look more tour-ready.
Integrated Daytime Running Lights with front indicators for enhanced visibility The 2025 Honda NT1100 features sleek, dual LED projector headlights with a "hidden eye" design and integrated Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) that also function as turn signals. These DRLs are highly visible and improve road position awareness for other drivers. The headlights themselves are also designed to make a bold statement

      Ride

      Whats It Like To Ride?

The Honda NT1100 offers a thrilling riding experience with its powerful engine, comfortable seating position, and dynamic handling capabilities. Whether cruising on the highway or navigating urban streets, the NT1100 delivers a sporty and agile ride for riders seeking performance and versatility.

      Highlights
Sport Modes vs Drive Mode Riders can choose between two automatic approaches and a manual option with the DCT system. Drive (D) mode focuses on saving fuel and comfort by shifting up early to keep engine RPMs low. This works great for relaxed rides but sometimes shifts too quickly - reaching sixth gear at just 31mph.

The Sport (S) mode gives riders three levels to choose from:

S1: Modest shifts in the medium rpm range

S2: Intermediate shifting pattern (preferred by many testers)

S3: Most aggressive, holding gears longer and shifting at higher rpm

The six-axis IMU integration marks a major step forward for 2025. This smart system factors in the bike's lean angle and braking, so the DCT holds gears longer while slowing for corners. The upshift timing matches the engine's character better, which works well with the revised engine's increased mid-range torque.

Each riding mode (URBAN, RAIN, and TOUR) comes with its own DCT shift pattern for consistent performance. Your choice of riding mode adjusts both engine power delivery and transmission behavior as one.
Manual vs DCT: Which One Fits You? The sort of thing i love about the Honda NT1100 is its available Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT). This technology has become increasingly popular - Honda reports that 66% of NT1100s are sold with this option.

The DCT turns the bike into an automatic by eliminating the clutch lever. You just twist and go, enjoying uninterrupted gear changes that reduce fatigue during long rides. The 2025 model's updated DCT system works better at low speeds (especially under 6mph) thanks to a revised clutch control system.

Riders who sometimes want manual control can choose from three DCT modes:

D (Drive) - Fully automatic operation prioritizing fuel economy and smoothness

S (Sport) - Three levels available, holding gears longer for more aggressive riding

MT (Manual) - Allows complete control via paddle shifters on the left handlebar

On top of that, traditionalists can still get the conventional six-speed manual transmission, saving about £1,000 ($1,300) compared to DCT models. But the manual version isn't accessible to more people - the U.S. will only get the DCT variant.

Your riding style and priorities will help you choose between the two. The DCT excels on long tours by eliminating a source of fatigue, while the manual transmission gives you traditional control and a more direct connection to your machine.
Revised Airbox and Intake Ducts The performance gains come from smart airflow improvements. Honda increased the airbox intake ducts from 25mm to 33mm in diameter[171][173][182]. This provides more air to the engine. The two internal trumpets (velocity stacks) that feed air from the airbox are now 65mm longer[171][173]. These changes optimize air velocity and improve cylinder filling at specific rpm ranges.

New ECU settings update the engine management system[171][173]. Modified injector angles spray directly into the twin-spark combustion chambers[171][172]. These updates improve combustion efficiency across the rev range.

A new O2 sensor at the rear of the converter measures emissions more accurately. This lets Honda optimize performance while meeting strict Euro 5+ regulations. The Throttle By Wire (TBW) system responds more linearly[171][172] and reduces torque fluctuations in lower gears[171]

        Running Costs

        Running Costs & Safety

Long-distance riders know that fuel efficiency means more freedom on the road. The 2025 Honda NT1100 delivers great economy numbers to keep you riding longer between fuel stops.

        Highlights
6.5-inch TFT with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto A bright, easy-to-read 6.5-inch TFT touchscreen display sits at the heart of the NT1100's tech package. The responsive interface gives you three distinct visual layouts that match your priorities:

GOLD: Shows all numeric and mode information

SILVER: Centers on the speedometer and odometer

BRONZE: Puts the odometer front and center

You can switch the background color between black and white to get the best view in different lighting conditions.

This system really shines with its connectivity options. The NT1100 comes ready with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone features. You can access your phone's navigation, communication, and entertainment right through the bike's display.
Touring Range: Up to 298 Miles Careful riders might squeeze nearly 300 miles (483 km) from a single tank. Most owners get between 180-210 miles (290-338 km) before hitting reserve, plus another 30 miles of safety margin. The largest study of road tests proves the NT1100 stays efficient even during aggressive riding. This makes it a reliable partner for long trips without constant fuel worries.
Navigation and Music Control via Switchgear Your handlebar switchgear controls navigation and music once connected. This means no fumbling with your phone or touching the screen while riding.

Honda's RoadSync system steps things up with voice-guided directions shown on the meter panel. You can save five favorite destinations for quick access.

Music streaming works smoothly too, supporting various music apps. A Bluetooth headset lets you enjoy your playlist while controlling it through the bike's interface instead of reaching for your phone.

The NT1100's connectivity package brings everything together. You stay connected to important information and entertainment without losing focus on what matters most - the joy of motorcycle touring.
