Cutting-Edge Technology

The all-new Kia Sportage has a cutting-edge, driver-centric interior that has been designed specifically for European customers, the first time such a focus has been made in the model's 28-year history. The cabin of the urban SUV combines advanced technology, luxury features, premium materials, and modern style to keep passengers comfortable, engaged, and connected on every journey.

The interior of the all-new Sportage has been designed to make it easy to access all vehicle controls. Drivers are greeted upon entry by a beautifully sculpted integrated curved display with two high-definition 12.3-inch screens that contribute to a near-cinematic experience. The Sportage's instrument cluster is located directly in front of the driver and features the latest liquid-crystal display technology for incredibly precise and clear graphics. A high-tech touchscreen in the centre caters to all driver and passenger connectivity, functionality, and usability requirements.

The all-new Sportage is fully connected, with access to the most recent over-the-air software and map updates, and the Kia Connect smartphone app allows users to remotely connect with their vehicle. Drivers can sync calendars, plan trips using online navigation, and use key onboard features such as live traffic alerts, local fuel station information, and real-time weather forecasts. A simple tap into the Kia Connect app's Remote Monitoring section will even remind the driver if their doors are locked, windows are up, and where they left their vehicle.

Intuitive controls

Each interface has been designed to be highly intuitive to use and simple to access. An integrated infotainment and climate control system eliminates clutter for a more streamlined appearance and ensures that front seat occupants can access these key controls without having to scroll through multiple menus. An electronic parking brake, which is standard on all models, is conveniently located near the steering wheel, helping to free up additional space on the centre console.

The cabin has been meticulously designed to provide occupants with enough space to relax and enjoy their journey. On certain models, the ergonomic centre console includes a shift-by-wire transmission dial that is easy to see and reach, while a smartphone charging bay provides high-speed 15W wireless charging. Front and rear passengers can customise the interior temperature with a three-zone air conditioning system for added comfort. Additional convenience features abound throughout the interior, including USB fast chargers and multi-purpose hangers on the seatbacks, as well as 40:20:40 split folding rear seats to aid in the loading of bulkier items.

Passengers will enjoy fully immersive, in-car surround sound via an industry-leading Harman Kardon premium sound system in addition to travelling in supreme comfort.

Materials chosen with care

Because the Sportage is so popular in Europe, Kia's designers carefully selected the colours, materials, and patterns for the seats and trim based on the preferences of European customers. Only the highest quality materials that are sumptuous to the touch, highly durable, and provide a rich, premium feel have been chosen. The interior mood lighting ensures that the cabin is a welcoming environment for all passengers.Only the highest quality materials that are sumptuous to the touch, highly durable, and provide a rich, premium feel have been chosen. The all-new Sportage has a luxurious appearance thanks to finely detailed aluminum-inspired air vents and a signature strip that runs across the width of the dashboard and onto the door panels. A top-tier GT-line model is also available, with trim that emphasises the SUV's sporty and dynamic nature even more. The seats are made of premium dark suede and leather, with black headlining and suede trim inserts to add to the GT-intimate line's feel. A sporty and ergonomic flat-bottomed steering wheel with a stylish GT-line emblem improves agility and makes drivers feel more connected to the driving experience.

Intelligent interior design

The interior proportions of the all-new Sportage have been specifically tailored for European customers, combining practicality, functionality, and versatility. Kia's latest SUV has a spacious interior for passengers and their luggage thanks to a compact wheelbase of 2,680mm, a width of 1,865mm, a length of 4,515mm, and a height of 1,645mm.

The Sportage provides a spacious environment for front-seat passengers to get truly comfortable, while second-row occupants benefit from 996mm of legroom thanks to front seats with a sporty slimline design. Luggage capacity is up to 591 litres (VDA), increasing to 1,780 litres when the rear seats are folded*.

In addition to IC engine models, the new Sportage will be available with mild-hybrid (MHEV), hybrid (HEV), and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrains for a no-compromise eco-friendly experience. The HEV and PHEV models' packaging has been carefully designed to minimise any impact on passenger and luggage space. The battery pack for the HEV variant is located beneath the second-row seats, resulting in comparable legroom and cargo volume to the IC engine Sportage models. The high-voltage battery for the PHEV Sportage is housed beneath the SUV's body, ensuring a balanced weight distribution and an interior space that is practical, comfortable, and versatile.

The all-new Kia Sportage, which will be manufactured in Europe, will go on sale in the second half of December 2021.
