Kia has once again proven its strength in the electric vehicle sector, taking home two major trophies at the Business Car Awards 2025. The brand’s smallest and largest electric SUVs — the EV3 and EV9 — were crowned winners in their respective categories, underlining Kia’s growing reputation for innovation, efficiency, and practicality across its electric range.
Meanwhile, the brand is preparing to expand its offering even further with the upcoming launch of the Kia EV4, a European-tuned electric hatchback designed to meet the demands of modern mobility.
The Kia EV3, Kia’s all-new compact electric SUV, was named Best Compact SUV at the 2025 Business Car Awards. Judges praised the EV3’s class-leading range of up to 375 miles (WLTP), its ride comfort, distinctive styling, and high levels of standard equipment.
Martyn Collins, Editor of Business Car, said:
“Kia’s first dedicated compact EV is, in our opinion, the definitive fleet choice in this segment. It’s efficient, has standout looks, a refined ride, and a spacious, high-quality interior.”
The EV3 is already turning heads globally, having won both the UK Car of the Year 2025 and World Car of the Year 2025 — matching a rare achievement previously earned by the Kia EV9 in 2024.
The Kia EV9 retained its crown as Best Premium Large SUV for the second year in a row. Judges praised its practicality, seven-seat layout, distinctive design, and impressive value — especially considering its starting price of just over £65,000.
“Despite new entries in the segment, the EV9 remains unmatched,” said Collins. “It’s still a head-turner, drives well, and delivers real-world efficiency and usability.”
Adding to Kia’s growing electric success story is the forthcoming Kia EV4, the brand’s first all-electric C-segment hatchback, engineered specifically for European roads. Built on Kia’s Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), the EV4 offers a bold design, cutting-edge tech, and impressive efficiency.
The EV4 will be available in two variants: a hatchback produced in Žilina, Slovakia, and a sleek fastback built in Korea. Both models offer a choice of 58.3kWh or 81.4kWh batteries, powering a 150kW front-mounted motor. The long-range version delivers up to 391 miles (WLTP), while the fastback provides up to 380 miles.
The EV4 also features ultra-fast charging — 10% to 80% in just over 30 minutes — and advanced tech such as Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) capability. With boot capacities of 435 litres (hatchback) and 490 litres (fastback), both models are well suited for families and professionals alike.
Inside, the EV4 combines premium materials with tech-savvy design: an intuitive mix of touchscreen and physical controls, ambient lighting, and a minimalist yet comfortable layout. European-tuned suspension and handling ensure confident cornering and smooth high-speed driving, thanks to extensive testing by engineers at Kia’s R&D centre in Germany.
Kia’s fourth-generation battery technology ensures long-term durability and thermal efficiency, with rigorous endurance testing confirming minimal battery degradation after thousands of miles under extreme conditions.
Safety remains central to the EV4’s design, with a full suite of ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) including Forward Collision Avoidance, Blind-Spot Assist, Smart Cruise Control, and Remote Smart Parking Assist. Structural reinforcements protect both passengers and the battery in the event of a collision.
Commenting on the brand’s recent accolades, Dave Williams, Head of Fleet at Kia UK, said:
“We’re thrilled to receive these awards for both the EV3 and EV9. They highlight not just the quality of our products, but also the strong support we provide through our 190-strong dealer network, our Kia Business Service Promise, and our industry-leading seven-year/100,000-mile warranty.”
With the EV3 delivering cutting-edge technology in a compact package, the EV9 setting the standard for premium electric SUVs, and the upcoming EV4 offering European-tailored performance and long-range capability, Kia continues to shape the future of electric mobility — with something for every kind of driver.
