Kia's Range of Concept Electric Vans
Kia's new range of concept electric vans comprises three models: the PV5, PV7, and PV1. The PV5, set to be the first to arrive, will offer a variety of configurations, including panel van, high-roof, chassis cab bodies, and a passenger carrying variant suitable for ride-hailing and taxi services. Following the PV5, Kia will introduce the larger PV7 and the compact PV1, designed specifically for short-distance urban logistics.
These electric vans are built on Kia's Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) architecture, which forms the foundation for their exceptional performance and versatility. Kia's PBV proposition goes beyond the traditional concept of automobiles by integrating vehicles, software, and future technologies to deliver added value to customers.
Enhanced Connectivity and Efficient Fleet Management
One of the key features of Kia's concept electric vans is their enhanced connectivity, which enables seamless operation of multiple vehicles as a software-defined fleet. By leveraging external data such as route and delivery information, these vans optimize efficiency and reduce downtime, resulting in enhanced cost-effectiveness for businesses.
To address the diverse demands of customers, Kia has developed 'Easy Swap' technology, allowing a single vehicle chassis to serve multiple mobility needs. By connecting interchangeable upper bodies, or 'life modules,' to the base vehicle, the PBV can transform from a taxi during the day to a delivery van at night and even a personal recreational vehicle on weekends. This flexibility ensures that the vans can adapt to various market and business circumstances, catering to specific customer requirements.
