The all-new Kia Sportage has received the coveted Women's World Car of the Year (WWCOTY) awards in the 'Family SUV' category. A highly regarded team of 56 female motoring writers from 40 countries spanning five continents examined the most notable family-friendly SUVs set to appear in 2021, with the Sportage winning the coveted prize after receiving praise in numerous areas.

The all-new Sportage competed against 64 other contestants in six categories: 'Family SUV,' 'Urban Model,' 'Large Car,' 'Luxury SUV,' 'Performance Car,' and '4X4'. The Sportage surprised the judges with its combination of cutting-edge safety technologies, a pleasurable driving experience, comfort features, cutting-edge technology, elegant design, exceptional efficiency, a low environmental imprint, and excellent value for money.

For the first time, the all-new Sportage has a sleek European-centered design with proportions that are perfect for European customers' needs. The clever interior architecture of the new Sportage has resulted in class-leading legroom and headroom for family outings, while high-tech driving and convenience features guarantee occupants have a comfortable and connected travelling experience.

The fifth-generation Sportage is available with a wide electrified model lineup that includes mild-hybrid (MHEV), hybrid (HEV), and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrains that offer good fuel economy, low emissions, and an electric driving range of up to 78km in the case of the PHEV variation.

The WWCOTY panel will now put the all-new Sportage up against the other five category winners before crowning the 'Best Car of the Year' on March 8th, International Women's Day.
