A real test of what and where is possible, we’ve built the new Africa Twin to push limits. The engine’s increased cubic capacity boosts mid-range torque – with an extra 5Nm peak for linear, relentless drive – and brings with it an extra 5kW peak power. A competition-style exhaust breathes freely with a highly-tuned crackle.

Comfort The riding position, is tailored for sitting and standing with high-set handlebars and contoured, slimmer seat width. Taut rally-style bodywork is equally slim with compact front fairing and screen. Dual headlights are full LED and have automatic DRL technology for piercing and consistent daytime visibility.

Stainless Steel Radiator Protectors Constructed from stainless steel- and sporting the CRF logo – these radiator guards elevate style and their mesh pattern design projects from the stone damage without hindering cooling airflow.

Durable 58L Plastic Top Box Made with highly durable dual-layer shell the 58L top box can store two full-face helmets and carry a maximum load of 6kg. It uses the Honda one-key system so can be opened with the Africa Twin’s ignition key, but also features an opening/closing knob for easy access with the key. Available separately are the rear carrier for mounting, pillion backrest and waterproof inner bag.

Durable Panniers Constructed from a tough dual-layer structure both 40L and 30L right panniers benefit from lid protector frames. Width between them is less than 100cm. The left pannier will hold a full-face helmet and each pannier carries 6kg. Opening is via the Honda One-key system and fastening secure thanks to a double-catch lid lock.

Increased cubic capacity of 1100cc for its parallel twin-cylinder engine boosts torque and power and, alongside the injection of extra performance, the chassis has been completely redesigned.

More Power Peak power and torque are up by 5Kw/5Nm and the parallel twin-cylinder engine is stronger, everywhere in the rev-range. Intake-exhaust efficiency has been carefully optimised with new Electronic Control Unit (ECU) and throttle body feeding a redesigned cylinder head, giving enhanced throttle feel and crisp response.

DCT DCT is an automated clutch and shift operation
system that retains the direct acceleration feel
of a manual transmission with the ease of use of
an automatic. DCT allows the rider to focus on accelerating, turning and braking, rather than gear shifting. This increases conﬁdence and control for the rider. DCT technology takes the joy of riding and controlling your machine to the next level.

G-Switch Triggered by a switch on the instrument panel, G Mode improves traction and machine control by reducing clutch slip during gear changes.

Honda Selectable Torque Control If the Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) system senses an imminent loss of rear wheel traction it reduces torque to allow the tyre to grip.

Cornering ABS The IMU-controlled ABS manages braking force relative to lean angle, speed of deceleration and front and rear wheel slip ratio maintaining traction to the limit of adhesion. Lift of the rear wheel is also controlled. There’s an off-road setting and the rear brake ABS can also be switched off.

IMU Control A 6-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) constantly monitors dynamic movement for precise management of Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC), Wheelie Control and Engine Brake through four default riding modes and two customisable user modes. Cornering ABS provides increased security on-road and features an off-road setting and rear ABS switch-off.

Wheelie Control The IMU measures the pitch angle and, combined with front and rear wheel speed, manages the amount of height the front wheel gathers relative to the level of intervention selected. Level 1 is minimum Wheelie Control, level 2 medium and level 3 maximum. Wheelie Control can also be switched off completely.

Low and High Seat Options To get your riding position just right, there are two seat options available separately for the Africa Twin: the 25mm taller 875-895mm high seat and 25mm lower 825-8445mm low seat (the standard seat is 850-870mm). Different Colours are available to match paintwork.

A six-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) delivers precise management of Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) and Wheelie Control. An OFF-ROAD setting also joins the URBAN, TOUR and GRAVEL default riding modes while ABS features off-road settings including rear ABS switch-off.
