Honda Adventure Roads 2026: A More Accessible Adventure Riding Format

Honda has officially revealed a new, more accessible format for its celebrated Honda Adventure Roads programme for 2026, designed to open the adventure riding experience to a broader range of riders. The refreshed approach moves away from the traditional long-haul expedition style and introduces skill-focused, shorter “Trail and Off-Road Tours” that encourage confidence and development for riders of varying experience levels.

The renewed 2026 calendar aims to attract what Honda describes as the “adventure-curious” riders who may feel the lure of off-road exploration but aren’t yet ready to commit to a full rally-raid format. While previous editions of Honda Adventure Roads involved multi-week, transcontinental journeys, including routes across Europe, Africa and Arctic landscapes since the series began in 2017, this year’s events are shorter, more structured and skill-development oriented

A New Format for Development and Confidence

For 2026, Honda’s organisers are introducing two distinct three-day adventure events that balance rider development with premium adventure riding. These tours are built around guided riding on varied terrain, with a strong emphasis on improving technique and boosting rider confidence in true adventure environments.

The two scheduled tours will be hosted in iconic European landscapes:

  • Event 1 – Pyrenees: Barcelona to Toulouse (11–14 June 2026)
  • Event 2 – Alps: Turin to Nice (10–13 September 2026)
Both tours are priced at €850, covering a comprehensive package that includes guided riding, training, accommodation and meals — riders only need to cover their flights and personal expenses. Each event will be limited to 30 participants to ensure a personalised experience with ample support and instruction throughout.

Focus on Skill-Building and Accessible Adventure

Unlike the more gruelling full-length Adventure Roads trips of the past, the 2026 format is geared toward riders who might be newer to off-road or adventure travel. Honda’s press release explains that the sessions are designed to help riders “grow their adventure riding abilities, with no previous Honda Adventure Roads experience required.”

Despite the new structure, Honda emphasises that the core values and premium experience of Adventure Roads remain intact. The tours will still include high-quality accommodation, curated routes across spectacular landscapes, and elements of rider development all designed to deliver unforgettable shared experiences.

The Bike of Choice: Honda XL750 Transalp

A key element of the 2026 programme is the spotlight on the Honda XL750 Transalp. This mid-sized adventure motorcycle will be the featured ride for participants, showcasing Honda’s E-Clutch with Throttle By Wire (TBW) technology — part of Honda’s DreamTech portfolio. This technology allows riders to start, stop and change gears without using the clutch lever, reducing cognitive load and freeing riders to concentrate on line choice and terrain navigation.

To highlight the capabilities of this advanced system, each event will include dedicated DreamTech Challenges — such as a Technical Climb, Adventure Flow and Low Speed Technical Coursedesigned to demonstrate how the E-Clutch system enhances rideability, confidence and control on mixed surfaces.

Nick Bennett, Honda Motor Europe Brand Marketing Section Manager, reinforces the programme’s direction and equipment choice for this year. He said:

“We’re excited to showcase the capabilities of the latest XL750 Transalp, with its innovative Honda E-Clutch and DreamTech technologies. Its accessibility, rideability and specification make it the perfect partner for this year’s adventures and make it a highly appealing prospect to an even wider range of riders.”

Bennett also highlighted partner involvement, stating that Honda is pleased to continue collaboration with Dunlop, Honda Official Accessories, Cardo and Enduristan. These groups that help ensure each Adventure Roads event delivers both capability and confidence to riders on and off the trail.

An Evolving Legacy

This shift in format for Honda Adventure Roads does not mark an end to the series’ epic heritage but rather reflects Honda’s intent to make the adventure lifestyle more accessible. Previous editions have seen riders traverse thousands of kilometres from Scandinavia to South Africa and Morocco, building camaraderie, resilience and skill in some of the world’s most demanding and beautiful riding regions since the programme’s inception in 2017.

The 2026 Adventure Roads season represents a transition toward inclusion and development, offering new riders a structured path into the spirit of adventure riding while still preserving the premium, shared experience that defines Honda Adventure Roads.
