Honda Super-N Brings Affordable Electric Driving Fun from £18,995

Honda has confirmed pricing for its all-new Super-N, with the compact electric hatchback arriving in the UK from just £18,995. Inspired by the iconic 1980s Honda City Turbo II and developed specifically to deliver an engaging, enjoyable driving experience, the Super-N combines characterful design, innovative technology and everyday practicality in one of the UK's most affordable EVs.

Built on the lightweight platform of Honda's popular N-Series kei cars, the Super-N has been fine-tuned on British roads to embody the brand's long-standing 'Joy of Driving' philosophy. While designed primarily for urban mobility, Honda has focused on making the Super-N genuinely entertaining to drive, setting it apart from many conventional small electric cars.

Compact EV with big personality

A standout feature is Honda's new BOOST Mode, which temporarily increases the output of the front-mounted e-Axle from 47kW to 70kW. This cuts the 0-62mph time from 14.5 seconds in Normal Mode to just 10.0 seconds, delivering noticeably stronger acceleration when required.

The Super-N's lightweight construction also plays a key role in its dynamic character. Weighing just 1,097kg, it offers agile handling and responsive performance that echoes the playful spirit of the original City Turbo II.

Power comes from a 29.6kWh lithium-ion battery, delivering a combined WLTP range of 128 miles, while urban drivers can expect up to 199 miles on the city cycle. Rapid charging allows the battery to recharge from 10 to 80 per cent in around 30 minutes using a 50kW DC charger.

Michael Doyle, Head of Automobile at Honda UK, said the Super-N has been designed to bring Honda's driving philosophy to a wider audience by combining affordability with genuine driver engagement, making it one of the most enjoyable entry-level EVs on sale.

Clever packaging and everyday practicality

Following Honda's 'Man-Maximum, Machine-Minimum' design philosophy, the Super-N maximises interior space despite measuring just 3.6 metres long and 1.57 metres wide. The cleverly packaged cabin comfortably seats four adults, while retaining the compact dimensions that make it ideal for city driving.

Honda's versatile Magic Seats also return, allowing multiple seating configurations to maximise luggage space. Boot capacity stands at 162 litres with the rear seats in place, expanding to 967 litres when folded in dive-down mode, making the Super-N one of the most practical cars in the A-segment.

Retro-inspired styling with modern technology

The exterior pays clear homage to the legendary City Turbo II with its wide stance, flared wheel arches and distinctive aerodynamic detailing, creating a modern interpretation of one of Honda's best-loved performance models.

Inside, bolstered front seats, blue trim accents and ambient lighting reinforce the sporty feel, while the lighting changes from blue to purple whenever BOOST Mode is activated.

Honda has also created a more engaging EV experience through a simulated seven-speed transmission and Active Sound Control, giving drivers the instant response of electric power with a more involving driving sensation.

Technology is equally impressive, with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a premium Bose eight-speaker audio system complete with integrated subwoofer, and a range of customisation options including the striking Boost Violet Pearl paint finish, contrasting black roof and bespoke graphic packs.

Fleet Insight

With pricing below £19,000, low running costs and a lightweight, efficient powertrain, the Honda Super-N offers businesses and salary sacrifice schemes an attractive entry point into electric mobility. Its compact dimensions make it particularly well suited to urban fleets and local authority use, while its engaging driving dynamics, practical interior and distinctive styling provide an appealing alternative to more conventional city EVs.
