Honda has announced its updated Civic Type R which will start from £32,820 when it arrives in showrooms later this month.
The model, which has been modified following on from the standard Civic at the start of this year, benefits from light design tweaks and an interior featuring a new Alcantara steering wheel, altered gear shifter and new physical buttons for the infotainment system.
Its 316bhp 2.0-litre petrol engine also remains the same as before – allowing the Civic to sprint to 60mph in 5.7 seconds – but Honda has introduced a number of changes to enhance the way the Type R drives.
An updated air intake system, improved cooling, new brake discs, along with a more pliant suspension are added to the modifications list to allow for a smoother ride.
The standard Civic Type R is available from £32,820 (or £339 per month on finance), and an additional £2,000 can be spent for the GT version – adding dual-zone climate control, LED front fog lights and wireless phone charging.
For the same price as the GT, you can get the new smoother ‘Sport Line’ version, which comes with smaller 19-inch alloy wheels with larger profile tyres, a black interior (rather than red on the regular car) and a smaller rear spoiler.
Only 20 of the limited-edition model that are coming to UK have already been sold out. Starting from £39,995, this version concentrates on saving weight therefore being 47kg lighter than the regular car and also comes painted in a bright Sunlight Yellow.
